Bad Effects of Fatty Food on Memory and Exercise Performance!

Consuming fatty food is detrimental on memory, particularly short-term memory, and your athletic performance.Though we already have knowledge that eating high-fat foods for a long period can result in weight gain leading to heart attack and congenital problems, we know very little on how the fatty food may affect the brain and exercise performance.
To establish the consequence of a fatty diet on memory and muscle performance, a research was conducted on 32 mice that were provided low-fat rat chow and were taught for two months to be successful in a demanding maze. The maze incorporated eight dissimilar paths that ended with a treat of sweet milk. The idea was to make the rat find each treat without coming back into same area that it left. The mazes were made smell free by cleaning it with alcohol, so the rat had to engage their memory rather than the sense of smell.
All of the rats under observation had mastered the maze finding all eight on the first try.
Few rats were fed high-fat rat chow, while the remaining rats were kept on their usual fat free diet. In a short span, the rats consuming fatty food were making mistake in the maze. Contrastingly the rats on low fat food kept showing commendable performance.
The results of the research on human are yet to be published; however researchers have also predicted similar behavior.
The reason for memory loss due to fatty foods is not yet established. It is believed that a high-fat diet can set off insulin resistance, which means the body has problems using the glucose, or blood sugar, that is important to brain function. Exercise performance also comes down as high fats result in body triggering certain proteins that slows down metabolism.
So it’s recommended that we consume low fatty foods to have sharp memory and healthy bodily functions.
