NASA is Going to Bomb Moon!

Yes, NASA Moon bombing is an attempt to unearth (or, is it unmoon?) water on the Moon, Earth’s natural satellite. The blast is supposed to shatter moon-soil and ice on the Moon, thus releasing the water. In turn, breaking the soil can assist in probing for water.

Earlier, NASA established the existence of water on the Moon through the data collected by Indian mooncraft, Chandrayaan, which bore instruments to probe the Moon. If water is found it will be a great step forward for the human kind and might have a positive impact on venture to colonize the Moon. Over that, the cost will come down carrying the water for lunar exploration teams from the Earth.

The missile for the NASA Moon bombing will hit the south pole of the Moon and will visible via telescope.

The blasting will be broadcast on Friday, 10/9/2009 (9 Oct 2009) supposed to begin at 6:15 am EDT, Check it out live at  http://www.nasa.gov/ntv
