It’s sad news!!! Stephen Gately, the Boyzone singer, died young at the age of 33, while on holiday with his partner Andrew in Mallorca. He was found dead in his hotel room. Sources indicate that it seemed he went of for couple of drinks, came back to the room and never woke up. What a crazy way to go man! The exact cause of death is still a mystery.
Born in Ireland in 1976, Stephen Gately joined Boyzone in 1993. Here is what Boyzone manager Louis Walsh said:
“We’re all absolutely devastated. I’m in complete shock. I was with him on Monday at an awards ceremony. We don’t know much about what’s happened yet… He was a great man.”
The pop star shot to fame a decade ago when he exposed that he was gay and was again on the news when in March 2006 he wed his partner Andrew Cowles.
