Windows 7 Review!!

Windows 7 is the next in line of windows operating systems to be released by Microsoft, due for launch sometime in 2010….. A beta testing version was leaked over the internet around December 2008, and has been undergoing tweaks and tests since then.
While at this stage its hard to complie a true windows 7 review, you can bet your bottom razoo that the beta version released for public playing, is around 80% of the final product we will see in April at launch date.
So what the guts of the beta version of windows 7? Lets take a look at some new improvements over vista.
Personally, I have been using vista home premium for around 3 years, and have found it overall, a very good package over horrible XP. Im hoping however that windows 7 will show some good benefits again over the few annoying vista problems!
The beta version of windows 7 that I have been playing round with over the last 2 months or so has shown me that Microsoft have, thank god, included some interface improvements over the vista platform.
The windows 7 interface is less complicated in some areas, but at the same time does ofer improvements for the users that want more power. I really like how the preview pane in windows7 shows after one click, not about 3 or 4 as with vista!
The poor defragmentation interface in vista has been vastly improved! Thanks microsoft, because it was a damn pain before! Its new design shows more options.
Ive also never liked the shutdown arrangement in vista, the sleep button looks like the power button, which always confused me and other users of my computer. Windows 7 has a new arrangement, thats better laid out and far more logical. The shut down button menu pops up right beside the mouse cursor, which makes it around 1,000,000 times more sensible!
I also found improvements in the user account control panels, that seemd to be both less complex to the eye, all the while offering more options to the advanced user who, with vista, would have to trawl through various windows to get the options you needed, eg security settings.
All in all, I very much liked windows 7 and my review ends on a positive note for the product. I give it a 8/10 versus a 6.5/10 for vista.
Lets hope that windows brings me out a 10/10 product next time round!
