Britain Expect Worst storm England Hurricane High Winds Weather Forecast November 2009

Worst storm of the year expected to hit UK this weekend, forecasters have warned.Britain+Storm+Hurricane+Forecast+weatherWeather experts are advising those planning Saturday shopping trips and days out to postpone them and stay indoors as Britain is buffeted by winds of up to 70mph.Forecasters have advised people to stay indoors over the weekend if possible.

Heavy rain is also expected across large parts of England and Wales late on Friday and into Saturday as two associated weather fronts pass over.

Hurricane-force winds are classified as those in excess of 73mph under the Beaufort Scale. However, the British Isles are too far north to experience true hurricanes, which feed off warm tropical water.

Rail passengers are advised to check with National Rail Enquiries or the train operator before they travel.
