Dell Launches "DELL Mini 3i" Smartphone
Dell’s entry into the smartphone market has been expected, and although once “highly anticipated”, excitement has wavered.
The Dell Mini 3, a keyboardless touch-screen phone that runs Google Inc.’s Android operating system, will also be available in Brazil later this year. The computer maker, based in Round Rock, Texas, would not say when the phone would reach the U.S
In China, the smartphone will be distributed via China Mobile (which has about 500 million subscribers) and in Brazil it will be distributed via Claro, which has over 40 million subscribers.
The phone should be available in China this month, and in Brazil by “the end of the year.”
The Mini 3 is a candy bar phone like the Palm Pixi, and the Motorola Eris, and will run Android. DELL does not say anything about the phone specs except it will work on Android and have 3G.
However, the leaked specs sheet suggest that it will have a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, 3MP camera, microSD card slot, Bluetooth and supposedly Wi-Fi.
