Orkut official blog/Google blog and news post of different websites have already confirmed that Google has revamped Orkut. It’s not a rumour that Google is giving a makeover to the social networking platform Orkut.

Now every one knows that orkut is lagging behind rival social networking sites like Facebook and twitter. FaceBook recently updated many features and adopt the basic functionality of twitter like status updates. Now Orkut follow the FaceBook and adopt the similar look but still lacks the synchronous status updates as in FaceBook. Moreover FaceBook enhanced with new applications, feeds features, different prototypes and most important the features of Publishing to Twitter from FaceBook Pages. More over they have open api and lot of open option to build things on FaceBook.

There are two ways to Get an invite:

Join Poppy and Shashi on the official community

(It take more than 3days to get invited due to heavy demand)

or
Find a friend who’s already using the new version of orkut and ask for an invite. You can see who’s already gotten access via your activity stream or by this icon that will appear on your friends’ profile pages, next to their names.
