LA Marathon 21 March 2010 Sunday Route Street Closures L.A. Marathon 2010 LIVE Photos Updates Real-Time Pictures Images Videos –
This the first time, the L.A. Marathon is being held in Santa Monica on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Starting from Doger Stadium, racers will cruise through a fresh route titled "Stadium to the Sea" all the way through Beverly Hills and West Hollywood before taking the route down San VIcente Boulevard in Santa Monica and finish at scenic Ocean Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, close to the Santa Monica Pier.
World-class runners should turn up shortly after 9 AM, with the great number of marathoners finishing the race by 3 PM in the afternoon. There are Twenty Thousand athletes scheduled to take part in the race, so Downtown Santa Monica is saddling up for a deluge of athletes and excited fans expected to turn up for cheering their favorites.
LA Marathon 21 March 2010 Sunday Street closures
• Eastbound lanes of San Vicente Boulevard will be shutdown. The westbound lanes of San Vicente Boulevard alternatively be open.
• Ocean Avenue will be shutdown to vehicles connecting San Vicente Boulevard and Colorado Avenue.
• Main Street will be shutdown between Pico Boulevard and Colorado Avenue throughout the morning pre-event loading period and until Santa Monica Police permit a re-opening. Subsequently, the west side of Main Street between City Hall and the RAND building is a selected for runner pick-up area, no parking or standing at any time will be permitted.
• The California Incline will be shutdown.
• Street reopens at approximately 1PM at the east end of Santa Monica.
