image The Marine Corps Marathon is underway and registration details are now available. The marathon is still months away but registration is happening now. The 35th MCM will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2010. Applications for registration can be downloaded from the internet and easily submitted. People can even register their friends or colleagues for the marathon online.

Registration for the popular Marine Corps Marathon on October 31st will be open starting tomorrow, April 7th at noon. Marine Corps is capped at 30,000 and is expected to fill up quickly, so be sure to sign up tomorrow or as soon as possible if you plan to run.  It will be interesting to see whether this year’s race is as popular as previous years, with it being on Halloween.  The Halloween race date is not as appealing for runners with families who have to travel to the race. It could be more of a hometown crowd for 2010!

All runners ages 14 and above can register for the MCM, known as "The People’s Marathon" – an event that hosts runners of all skill levels and athletic abilities. The MCM is the largest marathon in the world not offering prize money. Annually, runners participate from all 50 states and more than 40 countries. The MCM starts in Arlington, VA, and guides runners through a tour of the nation’s capital culminating at the spectacular finish line at the Marine Corps War Memorial in Rosslyn, VA.
