The fight Chuck Liddell vs Rich Franklin turned out to be a short one as Franklin defeated Liddell via knockout in the very 1st first round of the fight. The fight took place at event UFC 115 at Vancouver city in British Columbia in the arena of General Motors Place.

Liddell was defeated within 4 minutes and 55 seconds into the first round. The fight started really well with both the fighter throwing kicks and punches at each other. In the beginning there were more kicks than punches, later it was a punch from Franklin that took Liddell down and he never recovered after that.

Later when Franklin was asked regarding his dismal performance he told that his arm was broken in the initial stages itself when he tried to stop a kick from Liddell and he continued as he did not want to stop the fight. Liddell in turn wasn’t fighting well in his current bouts and he had lost 3 fights on the trot. Liddell who is 40 has been by his friend president of UFC Dana White to retire from fighting as his best years as a fighter have passed.
