A fresh anime by the name of “High School of the Dead” is expected to premier today on the Anime Network. The anime version of the Japanese manga is licensed by Sentai Filmworks and is also launched on TV simultaneously in Japan today. Sentai plans to release a dubbed version of the series to net more audience.
High School of the Dead otherwise referred to as Gakuen Mokushiroku or “Academy Apocalypse” is actually an original Japanese manga authored by Daisuke Sato and illustrated by Shouji Sato. Ever since September 2006, it has actually appearing in Fujimi Shobo’s Monthly Dragon Age.
The manga was revived recently on February 9, 2010 after it was in a hiatus since the end of 2008. The forthcoming chapter of the manga will be out on July 9.
The series depicts a group of Japanese high school students trapped in the heart of a zombie apocalypse. As the story advocates the whole world is taken over by a lethal disease where humans turn into zombies.
The story takes place at Fujimi High School where the school nurses come together with several students to survive the deadly disease.
