The country’s biggest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India has launched a fresh version of its top selling model Alto, christened Alto K10, at starting price of Rs 3.03 lakh and Rs 3.16 lakh [Ex-showroom price Delhi].
MSI is targeting to strengthening its presence in the Indian compact car segment that encompasses nearly 70% of the market with the introduction of Alto-K10.
Alto K10 is available in 2 variants,
Alto-K10 LXi costing Rs 3.03 lakh
Alto-K10 VXi costing Rs 3.16 lakh.
Alto-K10 is equipped with 1 litre engine that is an innovative latest generation K-series engines designed by the company, and is expected to compete with likes of General Motors’ Spark and Hyundai Motor India’s Santro.
Maruti official release iterated that Alto K10 is endowed with a mileage of 20.2 km per litre. The company also added that that it has invested nearly Rs 70 Crore for developing the new Alto.
Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi told the press:
“I am confident of maintaining a market share of 50 per cent,”
The Alto-K10 has an enhanced suspension and additional knee-room for rear seat passengers. Alto K10 is a bit longer, almost 125mm, than the current version of Alto with an intention to house the bigger K-series engine. The Alto packed with performance, fuel efficiency and attractive cost or elegant pricing, jointly has made it India’s most “all the rage” car.
It is interesting to note that the existing Alto would also be obtainable along with its latest variant.
