A JetBlue flight attendant, Steven Slater, 38, apparently lost his cool with an stubborn passenger on a just-landed flight, on Monday got on the planes public address system to send volleys of curses to the passenger and then pulled the emergency-exit chute to slid off the plane and took off from Kennedy International Airport, as per the police.

However, Steven Slater didn’t get very far as he was arrested at his home in Belle Harbor, Queens, that is close to the airport. He is charged with irresponsible endangerment and criminal misbehavior.

The tantrum materialized soon after the JetBlue Flight 1052 from Pittsburgh landed at Kennedy around noon with 100 passengers and pulled up at the gate. One passenger who got up to fetch belongings from the overhead compartment even before the permission was given. That is when Slater asked the person to remain seated. The passenger wasn’t in the mood to listen though and when Slater approached him, only have volley of curses thrown at him. Mr. Slater took aid of the public address system and cursed the passenger in return. Then he pushed the button for inflatable evacuation slide, disembarked and left the airport in a car.

What a drama!! What was actually going on in Steven Slater mind at that moment is a mystery.
