The reports are coming in that the common drink Four Loko could be banned subsequent to an incident where 9 students studying at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash., were hospitalized after having the drink at a house party in Roslyn.

In the beginning the police concluded that the boys might have used a kind of date-rape drug, however the investigation later revealed that the culprit was Four Loko, a caffeine rich malt beverage. It is believed that the 9 students had the drink laced with additional alcohol and their blood alcohol concentrations shot up to a potentially lethal levels.

Following this the FDA has been requested to ban the beverage. There was yet another incident in the recent past where 23 intoxicated students were hospitalized, following which Ramapo College in New Jersey banned the drink.
