Lily Rabe, the daughter of actress Jill Clayburgh who passed away this Friday, wouldn’t be appearing in several performances of her Broadway show “A Merchant of Venice” with intention to bemoan the loss of her mother.
The opening day of the show is expected to be postponed, and Rabe’s substitute will appear in her place until she returns.

Jill Clayburgh was battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia for almost two decades now. Jill was considered sophisticated Hollywood and Broadway actress recognized for depiction of empowered women in a career spanning almost 5 decades, decorated for her Oscar-nominated part of a divorcee discovering life subsequent to marriage in the 1978 film "An Unmarried Woman”. She was 66 now.

Her husband, David Rabe, a Tony Award-winning playwright, has informed that Clayburgh died Friday in the midst of her family at her home in Lakeville, Conn.
