There are typically 2 types of Tibetan dog breeds, companion dogs and working dogs. The companion dogs are the pampered lot preferred by monks and aristocrats. For this reason these breeds are kept intentionally small. The working dogs are predominantly used by nomads as they are excellent guard dogs.
The working dogs were petted for watching the flocks of sheep and guarding. These dogs usually slept during the day, and stayed guard during the night, and are highly independent.

01 . Tsang Apso Tibetan Terrier Dog

04. Tibetan Spaniel Dog
Tibetan Spaniel small, intelligent dogs that has origination in the Himalayan region of Tibet. They are believed to have a lineage to Pekingese, Shih Tzu, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, and Pug breeds. The point to be noted is that it is actually not a true Spaniel, but named Spaniel due to their close resemblance to the bred-down lapdog versions of the hunting Spaniels.
