A passenger name record (PNR) is an unique number that is provided to you when you book tickets in Indian railways. It stocks details of a passenger, or a group of passengers traveling together.
When one books a railway ticket the travel agent or website will create a PNR in the computer reservation system.
To check your PNR status online, click here PNR STATUS ONLINE. You will need to have the PNR number that you can find on the ticket at the top right hand corner or from the website that you booked the tickets on.
To check the PNR status on your mobile phone sends an SMS to 137 with the 10 digit PNR number. You get the status as a text message from the server.
