Providing someone access to your Wi-Fi network can be risky, but a Swedish startup has created Instabridge, which allows you to do easily and without the need to share a password. Thanks to an app for Android you can extend the use of Facebook friends using the Facebook Connect authentication tool, which allows users to access other web sites with the credentials used for the social network.

When you install Instabridge, you need to log in with the username and password of your profile: the application recognizes those who are friends and can invite them to use the network. It includes a map showing all available networks, and a future version will allow you to add your contacts in the phone and those of other social sites such as Twitter and LinkedIn.

Although Instabridge should always be running, it doesn’t drain the battery because it runs in the background and attaches to the activity scanning Wi-Fi Smartphone to detect a network only when it recognizes. The application is free but only available for Android users in Sweden, Estonia, Denmark, Norway and Iceland.

There are about 5000 people who downloaded the software from Google Play and there is about 2,000 active users Already.The Company plans to launch progressively in other countries like United States in the early part of 2013. The company is also considering a version for iPhone.
